INDIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, PHILIPPINES honors Retiring Philippine Vice Consul ad honorem SWAMINATHAN

Hon. Vice Consul of the Philippine Consulate was honored by the Indian Chamber last Nov 29 at a testimonial dinner attended by close to a hundred community members. Leading the list of invitees were Hon. Amb. of Philippines to India Francisco Benedicto who flew in Manila specially for this occassion and was accompanied by his charming wife. Also present was Hon. Amb Rajeet Mitter of the Indian Embassy of the Philippines. The Benedicto families were there present and was headed by Ceferino Benedicto, Sr. who is also the consul of. Mrs. Uma Swaminathan was also present.

The Indian Chamber was represented by President Ram Sitaldas, IPP Vishnu Hathiramani, Past Presidents Gurnamal, Mirani, Gopaldas, Mahibubani and Chotrani. More than 50 members and various guests also attended this testimonial which was held at the 33rd floor of the PhilAm Life Bldg. specifically at the Tower Club.

Those who honored Mr. Swaminathan for his 33 years of service, and who shall retiring on March 31, 2009 were both the Ambassadors, President Sitaldas and Hathiramani, BMA President Bhagu Sitaldas and Mr. Mirpuri. The various tributes to the honoree made him misty eyed and he responded by saying that he had served with his heart and true dedication. Yes, we agree.
