PHILIPPINES D.O.T.’S TEAM INDIA to bring in 50 Indian Tour operators.

A great effort to bring in Indian Tourists.

In 2009, Team India will embark in a business-to-business meeting exclusively organized between the Indian travel industry and the Philippine counterpart to help usher a prosperous year for those in the Philippine travel industry who are interested in the Indian travel market. This buyer-seller meet is dubbed as the Philippines - India Travel Exchange or PHILINDEX and is scheduled 26 January 2009 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

More than fifty (50) Indian tour operators and travel agencies will be given time to meet and interact with their Philippine counterpart during this milestone event. After which, the participants will fly to their respective Philippine destination of choice (Cebu-Bohol or Boracay) to conduct an inspection of facilities from 27 – 31 January.

The full day affair will start at 10 a.m. with welcome remarks by Undersecretary Eduardo Jarque, Jr. This will be followed by a full day PHILINDEX travel exchange proper where a huge crowd of travel agents are expected.

A by-invite only 6:00 PM Cocktails and a 7:00 PM Dinner at the Mindanao Ballroom, Sofitel Philippine Plaza has been organized with Honorable Tourism Secretary Joseph H. Durano as the guest speaker.

Mr. Glen Agustin of Team India of the Dept or Tourism and his team will undertake all the preparations. Recently the growth of Indian Tourists in the country have grown very positively but the growth of Filipinos going to India, either for business or Tourism, have grown three fold.
